Our company inspects the quality of molds.

  1. Interface between the mold/tooling and the equipment (mold dimensions must be compatible with the equipment’s daylight/opening, allowing for smooth loading and unloading without interference; dimensions of the base plate, top plate, ejector couplings, and hydraulic cylinders must not interfere with the equipment).

  2. Mold cavity geometry must conform to the final 3D model of the raw casting (total mold weight must not exceed the 20-ton capacity of the overhead crane).

  3. Lifting safety (must be secure, reliable, and convenient to use; lifting points must not interfere with vulnerable components such as water or hydraulic lines).

  4. Mold opening and parting line strategy (the parting line should avoid the product’s machining datums; it is recommended to establish machining datums on the fixed half of the mold).

  5. Draft angle analysis for the casting cavity (ensure no undercuts exist in the direction of core/slider withdrawal).

  6. Mold/tooling identification plate (must contain complete information and be positioned in a clearly visible location).

    7) Mold identification markings: for modular components (inserts, slides), the operator side, and cooling systems.

    2) Die-casting molds:

    1) Verification of casting shrinkage rates and machining allowances.

    2) Suitability of the die-casting gating system (gate design, spreader/diverter, gate layout, thermal-insulating inserts, etc.).

    3) Adequacy of venting (venting at parting lines, core areas, deep mold cavities, the ends of the mold-filling path, and locations where molten aluminum streams converge, etc.).

  7. 4) Rationality of ejector pin layout (ejection positions for the casting; standardization of ejector sleeve designs)

    5) Rationality of the cooling system (connector specifications, connection methods, assembly clearances for cooling inserts, protective measures for water lines, and operator platforms for the lower mold). Both the upper and lower molds must incorporate at least two independent water-cooling circuits, distributed around the perimeter to lower the overall mold temperature.

    6) Core-pulling mechanism layout (limiting methods, venting, guiding structures, and application areas for coatings on core-pulling components)

    7) Thermocouple layout (specifications and positioning)

    8) Selection of ceramic sleeve specifications in compliance with company standards

    9) Support and fit between the sand core and the external mold (positioning clearances) / suspension cradle (cradle structure)

    10) Verification of "mushroom head" (ejector head) heights (standardized dimensions)

    11) Materials: mold cores, ejector pins (and sleeves), mold bases, and mold plates; heat treatment requirements

    (hardness)

    12) Aluminum-sealing (shut-off) design and clearances between mating male/female features

    13) A radius (R) of ≥3 mm at the residual base of the gating and riser system

    14) Standards for sawing lines and trimming lines

    3-Part Core Box Mold:

    1) Sand core Verification of shrinkage allowance

    2) Mold parting factor

    11

    3) Adequacy of the core box heating system (depth of heating elements or oil channels; safety clearance of 7 mm)

    4) Sand-shooting coverage and nozzle arrangement

    6) Adequacy of venting (placement of vent plugs in deep mold cavities and at the ends of sand-flow paths)

    7) Configuration of core-pulling mechanisms (limit stops, guide structures, stroke length, and hydraulic cylinder dimensions)

    8) Materials for mold cores, ejector pins (or sleeves), mold bases, and plates:

    including heat treatment specifications (hardness)

    9) Sand-shooting holes provided in the sand-deflector plate (as shown in the figure)

    10) Venting channels (grooves) incorporated into side-pull components

Do not design lifting holes on the vertical faces.

    11) Lifting holes for the blow plate positioned at the four top corners;

ensure no interference; route hydraulic fittings/elbows toward the operator's side.

    12) Hydraulic inlet/outlet ports on the upper mold must not be positioned in the path of moving mechanisms; ensure no interference between hydraulic lines and clamping components.

    13) A minimum clearance of ≥10 mm must be maintained between hydraulic lines and the through-holes in moving mold components; use a semi-circular design for these through-holes.
